I love this picture for so many reasons. It was taken over six years ago on a trip to Granada, Spain with my study abroad program. My roommate and I were captured walking through Plaza de San Nicolas, an area located directly across from La Alhambra, the cities main attraction.

La Alhambra is a Moorish palace that stands at the foot of Spain’s highest mountain range, the Sierra Nevada, and overlooks the city below. It’s such a culturally rich city and it’s history of Muslim and Catholic rule is present everywhere you look. To get to this spot we had to venture through the mysterious, winding streets of the Albaicín neighborhood and ended up here to take in the stunning views and have a light lunch.

The landscape of Granada is breathtaking and really makes you feel like you are worlds away from home. It might have also been the calmest part of our time in Spain and our livers welcomed the break. I only wish we were able to spend more time here.
